The Event Company is a learning environment and we employ university interns who use their work experience as an internship or part-time job. Experiential learning tactics are used to provide interns with the opportunity to learn event management techniques, project implementation, and event marketing and fund development.

The Event Company coordinates 62 annual events in Kalamazoo. Clients include: Downtown Kalamazoo, Inc., Community Advocates for Persons with Developmental Disabilities, New Year's Fest of Kalamazoo, Inc., The Community Healing Centers.

The Event Company also works for local governments and nonprofits providing assistance in fund development, grantsmanship, and public relations. Clients include the City of Kalamazoo and various local nonprofits. Deborah Droppers also teaches nonprofit marketing  and event management planning at Western Michigan University.
