For eleven years, The Event Company has helped The Community Healing Center coordinate an event that helps to raise money for two programs that treat and prevent child abuse and neglect in Southwest Michigan. The 2012 dates are May 17-19. Last year, Roof Sit raised about $78,000 thanks to the efforts of hundreds of volunteers, Bill Wright, and the team at 103.3 WKFR. This event is a true example of the heartfelt commitment of volunteers and community leaders working together to raise money to support important programs that help our children day in and day out.

The Event Company helps to coordinate the event components, establishes and finalizes the event locations and set-up, helps to administratively manage programs like Tips for Kids, the education fundraising events (over 20 schools conduct fundraising efforts) and special events like the Carrabba’s Official Kick-off Dinner and Auction, family game night, Glamorous Girlfriend Party, and Tips for Kids. Other event management components include event day operations at Southland Mall where volunteers live on the roof for three days.  In the evenings, the therapists from The  Community Healing Centers stay on the roof to show their support of the children and families they serve. Roof Sit is truly an event that tugs on the heart strings and enables hundreds of children to be treated in a caring and supportive environment in an effort to break the evil cycle of child abuse and neglect.
